Swim School
 Active Swim School has been teaching the children of Tuggeranong and surrounding areas the skills of water safety, swimming and survival since 1986.

Lessons are also provided for young adults, adults and non-competitive squad training. All lessons are 30 minutes in duration, except squad and adults which are 1 hour.

Swim Levels
Water Babies and Aqua Tots
| Waterbabies | For children 4-18 months. Develop water confidence, bouyancy and holding the wall unaided. | | Aquatots | For children 18 months-3 years old. Develop paddling and kicking skills as well as floating on their back. | | Starfish | For children 2-3 years old. For children confident enough to jump into any depth of water. Develop water safety, buoyancy and introduce arm circles. | | Tinytads | For children 3 years old. For very timid children who have very little or no water experience. Develop water confidence and buoyancy. | | Jellyfish | For preschool children 4 years old. For students not yet comfortable in the water. Develop paddling skills and introduce arm circles. | | Tadpole | For children 4-5 years old. Develop kicking skills and correct arm circles. | | Turtle | For children 4-6 years old. Develop freestyle and backstroke technique over a longer distance. Introduce bi-lateral breathing. | | Cray Fish | For children 5-9 years old. For timid children with little or no water experience. Develop water confidence, kicking and correct arm circles. | | Penguin | For children 5-9 years old. Designed for confident children. Develop correct freestyle and backstroke technique with a focus on bi-lateral breathing. | | Sword Fish | For children 7-9 years old. Lesson is conducted in deep water with development of freestyle and backstroke technique. Introduce correct streamlining and breastroke kick. | | Stingray | For children 7-9 years old. Continue to develop freestyle and backstroke with a focus on correct breastroke technique. | | Marlin | For children 8-10 years old. Continued development of freestyle, backstroke and breastroke. Introduce butterfly kick. | | Shark | For children 9-14 years old. This class is focused on preparing students for squad level. Continued development of all four strokes with the introduction of tumbleturns and racing dives. |
Non Competitive Squads
| Squad | Utilises drills to enhance strength, speed, fitness and stroke technique. The class runs for an hour. | | Adult | Designed for intermediate swimmers. Classes run for an hour and cater to the needs of the students. Beginner level adult swimmers are recommended to enrol in a private lesson. | | Private Lessons | Private lessons cater to the individual needs of the student. Instructors work one on one with the student to quickly develop correct stroke technique. |
Prices
Prices are scaled according to the number if children and the length of the term. There is a flat rate charge per lesson for children who may only be able to attend alternate weeks under custody arrangements.
All prices include pool entry for the child and supervising adult and are inclusive of GST.
